Seasons Greetings and a Happy 2017
To Fellow Students on the Path to Better Golf,
The end of another year is near. With it comes the festive season and the joy of Christmas and the sharing of gifts among family and friends.
It is now a time of reflection on what has happened over the past year so let me share some of the “learning experiences” that have given birth to our 2 hour PushGolf workshops and the return to a simplicity that will deliver “Power, Control. and Consistency” to your game out on the golf course.
Mike Adams visits Australia
In early April, we had Mike Adams (US PGA Teacher of the Year 2016) visit with us at Eagle Ridge and Moonah Links to hold a “BioSwing Dynamics” Workshop. It has had a powerful influence on our approach to coaching each individual student going forward. At the heart of Mike’s teachings is the customising of the instruction to the student’s individual body structure and preferred movement patterns.
BIOSWING DYNAMICS approach: You don’t choose your swing. It chooses you. Now, with a simple and easy test, you can discover for the first time your most dynamic, consistent and efficient motion.
BIOSWING DYNAMICS integrates with PushGolf perfectly to allow us to coach you into your own best swing or golf skill being learned.
In November 6-9, 2017 PushGolf is bringing Mike Adams and Team to deliver an intensive 5-Day BIOSWING DYNAMICS School for Golf Instructors on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. All Golf Coaches interested in attending please contact Peter on +61415292549 to discuss the details.
My USA & Canada Learning and Coaching Tour – July, August 2016
Mike Adams had invited me to spend time with him at his summer location – Hamilton Farms, New Jersey. With the opportunity to deliver “PushGolf” Seminars and Schools in Los Angles, New York, Ottawa, Canada, and Club Med, Port St Lucie, Florida and also to learn from Dr David Wright in California, it required a 6-week visit to the other side of the pond.
Again I was excited at the prospect of learning more on the “What to Learn” and the “How to Learn” in Golf. My quest has become “How to make learning golf a simplicity.” This trip to the USA/Canada delivered a major breakthrough in this area.
Mike Adams, Dr David Wright, John Kennedy and Team (Westchester C C), Tom Szwedzinski (now GolfTEC, Oxnard, CA), Carl Alexander and Team (Country Club of Purchase), June Staton and Team (Ottawa Hunt Club), Cindy Jones ( Savannah Golf School) and Tim Kremer (Peak Performance Mind Coaching) contributed to this end — more at the end of this Christmas Newsletter.
In all, this time in the USA and Canada proved a most valuable learning and coaching experience.
Attending the 2016 ACE Divisional Conference – Coaching & Game Development
In October/November, the PGA of Australia delivered Educational Workshops for PGA Members in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
Having returned from a Learning and Coaching Tour of the USA and Canada, I was keen to catch up and learn from some of the best Instructors here in Oz and I was most impressed with all the PGA Coaches who delivered these Workshops in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne – especially Jason Laws, Gareth Jones, Ian Triggs, Richie Smith, Stuart Leong, Christian Hamilton, and Gary Barter.
Our Coaches Downunder certainly are up there with the world’s best.
The Making of PushGolf
In 1992, Jeffrey Johnson and myself, along with a Team of PGA Pros in Australia, made a major discovery and that discovery was that by focusing on the PUSH through the pressure points in the hands, you could compress the ball more effectively to control the direction and the power of the shot from putt to chip to pitch to full swing.
The simplicity is to be found in the drilling in of “Educated Hands” and obeying a few basic Concepts in swinging the golf club
Merry Christmas,
Peter, Chris, and our Team
